Lance Ketchum sent me an article he wrote on the major-minor issue. What he wrote is something that I haven’t pointed out, but I absolutely agree with him. This is worldly leaven that has entered the lump of the church. He advocates that churches are being influenced by worldly philosophy in this way. Read this article! If anyone wants to discuss it here, they are welcome to.

Well, to start with, he is wrong about "left" and "right". These aren't terms from Hegel, but from the French Revolution. Here is a link to Wikipedia on the history of the terms.

Hi Don,
Perhaps the terms "originated" from the French Revolution, which, by the way, as you know, was occurring right in the middle of Hegel's lifetime. But as the article stands, I believe Lance is correct in the way it is being used today, left, right, and center, this does not come out of the French revolution but from Hegel. The two are interrelated—French Revolution and Hegel. But as people view truth today, I think Hegel has had the bigger influence on this usage.
One more thing, I don't think Lance was saying that left/right was coined by Hegel. He doesn't say that per se.
Thanks.
