Already, shortly after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a theory pushed by a faction of the MAGA coalition is that Israel was perhaps in on it. His memorial service is this Sunday, and this idea has taken steam, threatening to undermine the most important and vital work that Kirk did. The investigation of both Jeffrey Epstein and the murder of Charlie Kirk seem to dovetail in this conspiracy theory. For the theory to work, it must involve some of the same actors, which now include many members of the Trump administration. How could this happen? The theorists espouse that Israel has that much power over people in the United States.
When someone says he supports the physical, present state of Israel (herein called “Israel”), an interlocutor challenges, “Who or what is Israel?” Maybe he adds, “Is that the present government under Bibi Netanyahu?” This is a strong example of “loaded questions.” It isn’t a simple answer that someone could give in a thirty second sound byte. As your answer moves past the average attention span, he interrupts and interprets the length of the answer as evidence itself of a conspiracy.
Also, support for Israel among the same MAGA faction means you are a closet neo-con, who desires forever wars and further nation building in the Middle East. This would require the United States to give billions of dollars to Israel, satisfying the puppet masters in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. This MAGA faction has common ground with leftist support for Palestine, part of the coalition for Zohran Mamdani, and the young violent protestors on college campuses. In his last year, Charlie Kirk expressed concern about the unfavorability of Israel with Gen Z and how to change that.
Justification of Support for Israel
Why do or should Bible believers support Israel today? Where does this existing backing, loyalty, or friendship come from?
Israel evinces God’s ongoing faithfulness to His unbreakable covenants with the Jewish people, especially the Abrahamic covenant in Genesis 12:1-3.
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Support for Israel involves the recognition of the nation state as a preparatory stage for future biblical prophecies concerning Israel’s national salvation, restoration, and role in the end times. God promised to preserve the ethnic Jewish people throughout history, despite their current state of unbelief and divine chastening for rejecting the Messiah, ensuring they remain intact for a literal future kingdom on earth
God’s Covenant Promises and Preservation of Israel
God bound Himself to unbreakable promises in the Abrahamic covenant (Genesis 12), vowing to bless those who bless Abraham’s descendants and curse those who curse them. Israel’s survival as a distinct people through centuries of persecution and dispersion is a “miracle of human history,” proving God’s faithfulness. Jews survived the melting pot of the ages and regathered, reborn into their own land.
God will not forsake Israel because His reputation is at stake. Passages like 1 Samuel 12:22 and Psalm 89:31-37 affirm God’s enduring covenant despite Israel’s failures. This preservation extends to the modern era, even if the current nation is not under divine protection due to apostasy.
The Modern State as Preparatory for Prophecy
The reestablishment of Israel in 1948 as part of God’s historical plan sets the stage for end-times events without their being the final fulfillment itself. By 1948 Israel had a charter as a nation again, positioning it for future prophetic developments. These include the covenant with the Antichrist (Daniel 9:27) during the Tribulation, followed by national repentance and the millennial kingdom.
Detailed prophecies in Daniel 9 (the seventy weeks) outline 490 years of history culminating in Israel’s redemption, with the modern regathering aligning with this trajectory. Israel takes center stage of the redemptive history of the world and its current existence ties to prophecies yet to be fulfilled, such as those in Daniel 9–12 about preservation during the Great Tribulation and the establishment of eternal righteousness.
Christian Obligation to Support and Protect
Based on Genesis 12, Christians have a biblical obligation to stand as protectors of the Jews. God never rescinded this. Nations attempting to eliminate them will be annihilated due to God’s promises. True believers should still pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and advocate the preservation of the Jewish people until their national salvation when they recognize Jesus as Messiah (Romans 11:26). This support is not because the current Israel is spiritually restored but to align with God’s plan for their future kingdom.
There is still a future and a kingdom, which involves the salvation and the restoration and the reign of the nation Israel, so historical Jews. This position stems from a literal interpretation of Old Testament covenants and prophecies, viewing Israel as divinely preserved for eschatological purposes, with Christians called to bless and protect Israel to receive God’s blessing and participate in His redemptive plan.
Satanic Opposition to the Plan of God
Biblical prophecy says that Satan has historically and will continue to oppose Israel because the nation is central to God’s unchanging covenant promises and redemptive plan, as outlined in Genesis 12, Jeremiah 31, and Romans 11 among other places. Satan, the god of this world system (2 Cor 4:4), aims to prevent the fulfillment of these promises, including the Messiah’s reign, by attempting to eradicate the Jewish people and thwart the establishment of Christ’s earthly kingdom. Satan’s opposition manifests through human agents and demonic influences, escalating in the end times to target the modern state of Israel as a precursor to the Tribulation and Armageddon.
According to Ezekiel 38–39, Daniel 11, Zechariah 12–14, and Revelation 16, Satan will orchestrate a global coalition of nations against Israel during the Tribulation. This begins with a deceptive “false peace,” where the Antichrist—empowered by Satan—enters a seven-year covenant with Israel, posing as their protector amid a one-world system, which is inherently satanic, echoing the rebellion at Babel in Genesis 11. We know that Satan will unleash intense persecution against the Jews, aiming to slaughter and eliminate them to prevent them as subjects of God’s kingdom (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15).
Acknowledging Biblical Prophecy and God’s Sovereignty
Demonic spirits, released from the mouths of Satan, the Antichrist, and the false prophet (Revelation 16:13–14), will deceive and gather world powers—divided geographically relative to Israel—for a final assault. This convergence culminates in Armageddon (Revelation 16:16; Zechariah 14), where Satan assembles a global army against Jerusalem to wipe out Israel and prevent the millennial kingdom (Revelation 20), but God intervenes, granting Israel victory through divine power and leading to national repentance and salvation (Zechariah 12:10; Romans 11:26).
While Satan opposes Israel to nullify God’s promises—evident in historical attempts like Pharaoh, Haman, Herod, and Hitler—his ultimate failure highlights God’s sovereignty and HIs preservation of a remnant. The Lord Jesus Christ will return to defeat the forces (Revelation 19) and will restore Israel as a witness nation in the kingdom.
Christian Obligation and Foreign Policy
The Jews themselves don’t have to believe the biblical teachings or what will happen to them for true Christians to believe those teachings and act in accordance with them. In light of God’s operation through history and how He works, it should be easy to understand the conflict between Israel and the Arab forces such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and others. They should sympathize with the predicament of living in the middle of these surrounding enemies, who want them eradicated. Hamas still has not released the hostages, but they complain about their children being killed, whom they use as human shields.
Christian obligation relates to United States foreign policy. Some variation of participation could exist. In recognition of God’s plan for Israel, the United States could defend Israel by allowing Israel to defend itself against its enemies. This is a bit of a tightrope to walk, but it would acknowledge what the Bible says about Israel, which would bring blessing to the United States.
The greater conspiracy theories relate to a theological evil propagated by the state church through history in accordance with allegorization of the Bible. These theologians advocate the replacement of Israel and they naturally see Israel as an enemy. No one should miss the influence of these beliefs that contradict biblical teaching.
A Pretty Large Faction of the MAGA Coalition
A pretty large faction of the MAGA coalition involves the historical, allegorical false teaching of the state church. Some of the coalition just harbors these views and embraces them either in a soft or hard way. They sit with the adherents in interviews and nod in affirmation as they promote the anti-Israel position. Others of them are self-righteous atheists or agnostics, including self-loathing Jews, who use their foul language to oppose Israel and smear the leadership. Much of it involves crazy or insane rants on sadly popular podcasts.
The podcasts against Israel put hatred of Israel on a platter and serve it to their Gen Z listeners. Maybe they even influenced Charlie Kirk some at the end or they at least would like to think or say so. There is not strong evidence for this. The better explanation was that Charlie wanted to persuade his young Turning Point crowd to love Israel and wondered why it wasn’t happening to the extent he wanted. Some took this concern and twisted it into criticism of Israel. Hopefully what I’ve written here will get you thinking about this in a different way.
The hatred Israel receives everywhere is Satanic. It is a travesty that European countries, to appease their Muslim voters, are now rewarding Hamas and turning against Israel by voting to recognize a Palestinian “state.” Hamas’s strategy of using people as human shields and refusing to return hostages is being very successful.
